Welcome to the Fruit Heights Stake Pioneer Trek 2022 Website! This website is the main communication tool for youth, parents, Stake leaders and Ward leaders in our preparation for the Stake Pioneer Trek which will be held from June 23-25 of 2022. Please review this website often as information will be added as needed.
Location and Dates
We have secured the same location (Muddy Creek Ranch near Mountain View Wyoming) for June 23-25, 2022, and we’ve shifted to a Thursday-Friday-Saturday format.
Youth Ages
As before, this trek is for all youth living within the Fruit Heights Stake boundaries between the ages of 14 and 18. Those who turn 14 in 2022 and those who turn 19, and graduate from high school in 2022 are included in this definition.
Why we go on Treks
From 1856 to 1860, about 3,000 Latter-day Saints pulled handcarts across the American plains to gather in the Salt Lake Valley. These pioneers trekked more than a thousand miles through heat and cold; through mud, sand, and sometimes snow; and through rivers and over mountains. They faced trials that required great faith and perseverance.

Our stake pioneer trek is an opportunity for the youth of our stake to learn in a small measure from the experiences of the handcart pioneers. It provides a powerful opportunity to strengthen testimonies, build unity, do family history, and learn core gospel principles. Treks can also help youth learn about who they are and what they may become.

2022 Trek Goals
- Strengthen youth testimonies of gospel
principles - Help youth become more acquainted with the Lord
- Strengthen personal confidence and commitment to
families & church - Strengthen appreciation for ancestor heritage,
sacrifices and accomplishments
